Happening Gourmand. Until January 10th, even the most frugal of foodies can treat themselves to some of Montreal’s best restaurants, with three-course menus at a fraction of the usual cost.
For $23 (regularly $36), guests can experience a table d’hôte at Vieux-Port Steakhouse, Modavie, Taverne Gaspar, Méchant Boeuf, Suite 701 or – one of our personal favourites – Bevo Bar + Pizzeria. For those willing to spend a bit more, Verses and Aix Cuisine de Terroir are offering prix fixe menus for $27 (regularly $44). This year marks the sixth edition of the foodie fest, and the people behind Happening Gourmand are bringing a bit more to the table. In addition to their usual lineup of out-of-this-world dinner options, this year’s fest also features stellar choices for lunch. For $15, skip Subway and enjoy an appetizer, main and dessert in a much swanker setting. This week, we were lucky enough to sample just a few of the midday plates on offer at a lunch hosted by Happening Gourmand founders The Antonopoulos Group.
